Introducing Kids to IT Early
Stepping Stones nursery use Cultrix for IT support services but it was quite unexpected when they called to ask for help setting up a new computer they'd been sent.
"There's a first time for everything" said Shaun (Cultrix), "and this is the only time I have had to put together a computer with a hammer!"
Dawn Ward, Nursery Manager for Stepping Stones said, "The computer was given to us through a scheme called IBM KIDSMART; IBM donates the computers to eligible settings and its aim is to target areas where children have limited, if any, access to computers at home."
"We were very fortunate to recieve one of these computers for use with our nursery children. It gives the children a chance to access a computer and to develop their confidence and with the use of age approporiate softwhere it also supports their leaning."
