As your go-to techies and all round knowledgeable IT people, we need to let you know that after January 14th 2020, Microsoft won't support Windows 7. If any organisations are running Windows 7 after January 14th, they are taking a grave risk and placing their crucial data in jeopardy. In short, security issues found after the deadline will not be supported or fixed.

Attention! The Microsoft support for Windows 7 ends on January 14th 2020!

Fortunately, if you find yourself in this position, it is easy to rectify and there is enough time still available to do the necessary upgrades. You'll need to check all your computers to see which are running Windows 7 and either, upgrade Windows as soon as you can, or, if they are too old to upgrade Windows, get them decommissioned and switched for new.

It won't cost as much you think when you consider the cost implications of a data leak due to a security breach. If you become infected by malicious software that takes advantage of a security weakness in Windows 7, and your customer data is compromised, your business could face substantial fines, for instance 4% of global turnover or up to £500,000.

Act now to upgrade from Windows 7; it will be cheaper in the long run.
