It doesn’t matter what your business is

All businesses have an audience, with specific needs and interests. It’s how you answer those needs and interests that count.

Helpful, approachable, trustworthy

And, whatever business you’re in, your customers want you to be all these positive things – well-written blogs and posts can help to elevate you in your customers eyes, and position you as the expert in your area, and the people they want to deal with.

More content ideas

A few weeks ago, we posted some of our content ideas for you – but we have more! And this won’t be the end, because the content world is always evolving, as is our audience, our marketplace and environment.

1. Describe and define articles

Describe and define articles are the ‘going back to basics’ about your products and services. You may think the names of your products are obvious, for example, a water treatment system. But you would be amazed just how much descriptions are sought by browsers.

Although these are highly competitive pieces of content in terms of ranking, if done well, and thoroughly, you will score well with your audience.

For example:

  • What is a water treatment system?
  • What is software as a service?
  • What is a laser printer?

2. Alternative solutions

Of course, you want to think your product or service is the best answer to a problem. But you customer wants to know why. Get into the mindset of your most cynical potential customer and answer the question for them. Think of it as an opportunity to point out the advantages and disadvantages.

For example:

  • Why choose wood fencing over composite fencing?
  • The alternatives to cloud computing
  • Five methods of cleaning your windows

3. Explaining qualifications

If there are qualifications that it is ideal someone in your industry has, this is your chance to help your audience understand the type of person they should be looking for when it comes to your services.

For example:

  • How to know if your counsellor is qualified?
  • How do you train to become a software developer?
  • Is my electrician qualified?

4. ‘Making your choice’ articles

If a buyer is ready to embark on choosing a product, then they are far along in their decision-making process, and ready to buy. Make buying easier for them by helping them with the final choosing. What should they look for? What signals a red flag? What should they be careful of?

For example:

  • What do I need to look for in an R&D tax adviser?
  • What’s important in an EV charging point?
  • Pitfalls of buying up-and-over garage doors

5. Hyping the benefits!

Want to talk about how great your product is? Do it in a blog. Some prospective customers, at the end of their buying journey, just want to be reassured that what they are choosing is great, and only want to hear about the benefits. After all, we can all get fed up of constant weighing up the pros and cons.

Just a word of warning here – don’t overdo it. Keep it measured, factual and positive.

For example:

The benefits of outsourcing your marketing
Why having a personal tutor is always the best option
